About the Beautyrest Black Collection

About the Beautyrest Harmony Collection

The Beautyrest^® Harmony line makes use of many wonderful advancements in mattresses that include coils that support, and specialized foam and other materials that add comfort and cooling. The technologies used in the Beautyrest Harmony collection include:

T1 Pocketed Coil^®: system, which is the T1 Pocketed Coil^® Technology designed to offer additional support. The T1 Pocketed Coil is in the center of the mattress and is the main support system. It is a dual-stage coil system that Beautyrest^® invented. It provides additional support under heavier compression.

Beautyrest^® Charcoal Memory Foam: For pressure relief, but also naturally cooling due to being infused with charcoal.

Beautyrest^® Gel Memory Foam: For comfortable pressure relief.

GelTouch^® HD Memory Foam: Foam that provides a cooling sensation after it conforms to your body.

Pillow Top Comfort Layer: Three inches of plush material on top for pressure relief.

Beautyrest Side-by-Side Comparison by Firmness Level

Ultra-Plush Mattresses

Ultra-Plush mattresses are among the softest mattresses we carry at Best Mattress. Side-sleepers especially and some back sleepers love plush mattresses. Here we compare:

• Beautyrest^® Black K-Class Ultra Plush Pillow Top Mattress
• Beautyrest^® Harmony Positano Ultra Plush Pillow Top Mattress

Both are extra soft mattresses.

Recommendation: The Black K-Class Ultra Plush is significantly more expensive (about three times that of the Harmony Positano Ultra Plush). However, the added breathable support of the Nano coils near the top of the mattress makes all the difference in this plush mattress.

Plush Mattresses

Plush mattresses are for people who want support but love the comfort of a super soft mattress. These mattresses work best for side sleepers. Here we compare:

• Beautyrest^® Black C-Class Plush Pillow Top Mattress
• Beautyrest^® Harmony Ocala Plush Pillow Top Mattress

Both have a blend of layers that relieve pressure on hips and shoulders and a long warranty that makes both appealing options.

Recommendation: The Black C-Class Plush mattress has a much higher price tag, but the added inches of plush foam effectively relieve pressure points. It should work much better for you than the Harmony Ocala Plush mattress. The Black C-Class comes with the stronger T3 Pocketed Coil System that has triple-stranded high-quality springs. They hold up longer under normal mattress use to provide consistent support. Then there are coils within coils to handle heavier loads.

Medium Mattresses

The Beautyrest Black C-Class Medium combines both comfort and support to provide a medium mattress that can work well for all kinds of sleepers: side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers. Here we compare:

• Beautyrest^® Harmony C Mattress

These two mattresses were the most closely matched.

Recommendation: The Black C-Class medium mattress with a much higher price tag does once again appear to be a better choice if you are a heavier person. The 5 inches of Plush Comfort foam will do a better job relieving pressure points. The stronger T3 Pocketed Coils made from stronger coils will hold up longer with heavier loads. If you are an average-weight person or lighter, the Paloma would meet your Medium firmness needs well and have plenty of pressure relief. It may also sleep a little cooler than the Black C-Class.
